I transitioned Aikido Kenkyukai Santa Barbara to nonprofit status at the beginning of 2009, when our economy was in a tailspin. Most people I talked to told me I would never be able to pull it off. I moved forward anyway and was able to build the dojo from 4 members to currently 30+ and growing. More notably perhaps, is the fact that I raised close to $50,000 in those three years. Those donations enabled us to not only cover our major expenses, but also launch various community outreach programs, such as our program for low-income children in Santa Barbara.
I can help you with:
- Dojo management
- Dojo promotion and marketing
- Social media strategy
- Creation of or transition to nonprofit status
- Dojo youth programs
- Outreach programs, using Aikido principles “off the mat”, such as AiKi Conflict Transformation© workshops
- Various other dojo business challenges
