Testimonials
Lia is a very talented and intuitive massage therapist. I found her massage wonderfully relaxing yet deep and healing, all at the same time. If you need her to work deep, she has the strength to do it, yet also knows how to be sensitive to a person’s needs. I recommend her highly!! Treat yourself to the best!

Thank you for the great massages, Lia.
~ Petra Henzi, Swiss Olympic Cycling Team Member
Lia does wonderful work. I paddle outrigger canoes for hours on end and getting a massage before and after a race keeps my back and shoulders loose and relaxed! Not a bad idea even in the off season.

My Back and leg muscles are big and deep. Lia’s Swedish hand massage definitely helps work out surface level aches and pain caused by sitting at a desk eight hours a day; however, for active people who also weight train, bike, and run, like myself, a hand massage cannot hit those deep back and leg muscles. Lia’s Barefoot Sports Massage impressed me the first time I had it performed on my back and legs. Using her foot to massage while carefully positioning herself for proper leverage allows Lia to help heal my deeper tissue aches and pains. When she finished her massage I felt both relaxed and energized from the experience. I highly recommend Lia’s Barefoot Sports Massage for active sports people.

Whenever my body is sore or stressed I give Lia a call. Sometime I get a Barefoot Sports Massage and other times I go for the Swedish – but either way I know I’ll feel amazing afterwards.

This note is to thank you for teaching me what a massage feels like and how it needs to become part of everyone’s life. I am 30 years old and work in an intense enviroment. I had never been to a massage therapist before. I have now experienced it through you and will recommend you to all that I know. Your methods are soothing and effective. Again, thank you.

Lia Suzuki’s Barefoot Sports Massage is a serious massage for people who need deep work. Lia does a masterful job in getting in all the right places and applying just the right pressure. Being a competitive runner, Brazilian jiujitsu practitioner and working long hours in the office, massage is essential for my sanity and well being. There are only a few therapists I know of in this area who can work out my knots and balance me out. Lia Suzuki’s Barefoot Sports Massage is one I would highly recommend.

Being a tatoo artist is more physically demanding than most people would think. It requires me to hold my body in certain poses and stretches while I do very intricate work for long periods of time. This takes its toll on my shoulders and back to say the least. That’s why I always make time for an appointment with Lia. Her Barefoot Sports Massage penetrates deep into my muscles, giving me greater range of motion and relief of chronic pain.
~ George Totten, Golden Eagle Tattoo
I had already experienced Barefoot Sports Massage once when I heard that Lia also practiced this style of massage. I was so excited to hear that Lia also offers this type of massage, since the location is so convenient for me. I like Barefoot Sports Massage because it goes very deep into the muscles. As the owner of a ranch, I do a lot physical work and this deeper bodywork melts away the knots in my muscles along with the day’s stress. I have no hesitation in recommending Lia.
~ Gail Zannon, Santa Barbara Pistachio
Hi Lia, This is Terry. I can’t believe how good I feel today; this is the best bodywork I have done in a long time. I’m looking forward to the next class!
~ Terry Keramaris
Lia truly has powerful hands. Not simply because she can apply tremendous pressure to stubborn sore parts of the body, but because her hands cause one’s body to react in a unique way.
When I first went to Lia, I thought I knew what to expect. I’ve had many massages from many people, and they are all somewhat similar. But with Lia, it was different. I found myself thinking of nothing other than her hands caressing the tension out of my body. It was as if my tough day at the office was a distant dream. When Lia finished, I staggered to my car like a zombie and drove home. I didn’t realize it at the time, but apparently I looked a bit off. When I arrived home, the phone rang. It was Lia. She said that she had never seen anyone react the way I did, and wanted to know if I was okay. I assured her that I was just fine, and proceeded to sleep for a good 10 hours that night.
So, if you’re looking for a great escape from your daily grind, spend an hour with Lia. Her hands will make your mind forget about your troubles, and your body feel like royalty. Thanks Lia!

Testimonials for massage by some athletes from the 2008 Beijing Olympics
It seems that nowadays it’s very unusual to hear of a serious athlete who doesn’t employ massage as part of their training regimen and recovery strategy.
