So, hot stone massage uses stones to massage the client.  A sugar scrub uses, yep, sugar.  So guess what a snake massage uses!  Yep.  Snakes.  Recently TIME magazine journalists Tim McGirk / Talmei Elazar wrote about a woman in northern Israel named Ada Barak.  Barak has a business where clients lie on a massage table and have snakes slither around on them to give their own version of massage!

Barak’s original business was carnivorous plant cultivation.  She accepts visitors at her carnivorous plant farm and puts on a show for them, showing how the plants eat insects, reptiles, and even small rodents.  One would-be plant victim was a snake, teasing the plant by slipping in and out of the “mouth”.  At the end of the act, when Barak would pass around the snake, some people reported on the relaxing feeling they were left with, crediting the snake.

Now Barak offers this experience as a theraputic service.  She developed a combination of big snakes and little ones to give a combination of a heavier, kneading sensation from the larger serpents and a lighter, more delicate touch from the smaller ones.
